HE ROLE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN PREVENTING POSTURAL DISORDERS AMONG SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN

Abstract

This article examines the prevalence of postural disorders in school-aged children and their relationship with levels of physical activity. The study involved 4,019 school students aged 15–17 from the Shaykhontohur and Mirobod districts of Tashkent city. The children’s physical activity levels and posture were assessed through visual examination and orthopedic evaluation. Results showed that adolescents engaged in regular sports had a higher prevalence of normal posture, while those with low physical activity experienced significantly more postural disorders, such as scoliosis, kyphosis, and flat feet. Additionally, the study identified factors such as prolonged use of computers and smartphones, lack of exercise, stress, and poor lifestyle habits as contributors to postural disorders. Based on these findings, recommendations were developed to increase physical activity, improve physical education programs in schools, and implement preventive measures.
