THE ROLE OF WEATHER DERIVATIVES IN AGRICULTURAL RISK MANAGEMENT OF UZBEKISTAN

Abstract

This article examines the role of weather derivatives in risk management in Uzbekistan's agriculture. Climate change poses significant threats to the agricultural sector, particularly in wheat production. The introduction of weather derivatives can serve as an effective tool for protecting farmers' incomes and ensuring the country's food security. The study analyzes the specifics of their application, potential benefits, and the conditions for successful implementation.
